Ground to Tree CoffeeWe believe coffee should taste good and do good. At Ground to Tree, we partner with vendors who care about the planet and the people who grow our beans. Whether you need a caffeine boost between classes or a quiet spot to recharge, we’re here for you.

 

Why Our Coffee Matters

Our roaster, , provides beans that are ethically sourced and environmentally friendly. Our coffee is:

Run by Students, for Students

Ground to Tree is entirely student-operated! Most of our baristas are Highline College and CWU-Des Moines students are enrolled in the Hospitality and Tourism Management (HOST) program.

When you buy a latte here, you aren't just getting a drink—you’re helping your peers gain real-world experience in business operations, customer service, and team leadership.

 

Hang Out & Save

We want Ground to Tree to be your "third space" on campus.

  • Italian Soda Happy Hour: Join us every day from 2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. for $1 off any Italian Soda or Lotus Energy drink.

  • Events & Clubs: Want to host a club meeting or a small event here? Reach out to us—we’d love to have you!

  • Learn the Craft: Want to learn how to run a shop like this? Check out classes like HOST 128 (Barista) or HOST 130 (Food & Beverage Operations).

 

Mission Statement

The mission of the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ College is to work with all students to assist them in reaching their professional goals as stated by each student as a unique individual. Students completing the program will be empathetic critical thinkers, understand all HOST stakeholder groups, and be prepared for a successful career in HOST.

Vision Statement

The vision of the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ College is for every single student to enjoy having their hospitality abilities, both academic and applied, stretched so they can learn about their career options, choices, abilities, and successes.
